Barcelona running tour: the Eixample and the Modernism:
– Distance: 4,8km
– Level: Easy
This route will visit some of the principal and most beautiful monuments of the city of Barcelona. You run next to the Hospital de Sant Pau and the Sagrada Familia, see the reticular pattern of the Eixample, Passeig de Gracia, and discover the hidden Torre de les Aigües ( Tower of Water).
This is an easy route, suitable for all ages, both for those who just begin in the world of running, and for those you have benn running for years! We also believe that it is an ideal route for jogging early morning to avoid the crowds that accumulates around the Sagrada Familia or in Paseo de Gracia. But we can run it at night and enjoy the feeling of running alone.
If you follow the route as us we’ve proposed, reaching the Jardines de Gràcia (formerly known as Espriu Gardens, in honor of the poet, of course!). At the top is the beautiful Casa Fuster Hotel, a jewel of Catalan architect Domenech i Montaner. Then should you venture into the Eixample through Còrsega street, where you will discover a hidden Modernist house … do not know what? We encourage you to explore it and tell us if you’ve recognized!
It’s a route you can run alone or in groups.
